Ep 2. Seeds of Deception

In Exosquad season 1 episode 2, titled "Seeds of Deception," the war between the human race and Neosapiens continues to escalate. The Exofleet, a dedicated task force, is put under even more pressure as it prepares to launch a major offensive against the Neosapien forces.

The episode opens with the Exofleet struggling over plans to attack the enemy. They are determined, but they also know that the Neosapiens have superior technology, and that their chances of success are slim. They decide to take whatever measures necessary to ensure victory, including using genetically engineered crops to poison the Neosapien food supply.

Commander Marsh and Lieutenant Battleship take a small team to a planet where Neosapiens are known to be using genetically modified crops. Their mission is to gather evidence that will justify the use of the same weapons against the enemy. The team stumbles upon a small underground lab where the Neosapiens are experimenting with crops that could potentially kill off all of their human adversaries.

Meanwhile, back at the Exofleet base, serious tensions are brewing between Typhonus and Phaeton, two high-ranking Neosapiens. Typhonus is less loyal to Phaeton than the other Neosapiens, and it becomes clear to Phaeton that Typhonus is plotting something. This adds another layer of danger to the mission, as the Exofleet team realizes they must complete their mission before the Neosapiens get wise to their plans.

As the action unfolds, the audience gets a glimpse into the lives of some of the main characters. We learn more about J.T Marsh and his history with the Neosapiens, including the fact that his own brother was killed in the war. We also see how personal relationships are intertwined with the political and military decisions being made.

The animation is well-done, adding to the tension and drama of the episode. The characters are well-drawn and relatable, despite being in the midst of a war that is beyond their control.

"Seeds of Deception" is an exciting second episode that builds on the momentum of the first. The plot is complex and filled with surprises, and the show does a great job of balancing action with character development. It's a great introduction to the Exosquad universe and sets the stage for a thrilling first season.
