As the ExoFleet continues their mission on the moon, they are unaware of the impending danger on Earth. However, their mission takes on a new urgency when they come across evidence that the Neosapiens are building a secret weapon. The ExoFleet realizes that they must stop the weapon from being completed at all costs if they want to have any chance of winning the war.

Overall, "The Gathering" sets up the second season of Exosquad by introducing new conflicts and expanding upon the existing ones.
