Ep 2. The New Girl (2)

Blair, Tootie, and Natalie welcome a new transfer student, Jo Polniaczek, to Eastland. Jo is rough around the edges and has a tough exterior, but quickly proves to have a heart of gold when she helps Blair and Tootie pass their gym class by teaching them self-defense. However, Jo's rebellious behavior clashes with the strict rules and expectations of Eastland, and she finds herself constantly butting heads with the headmistress, Mrs. Garrett. When Jo faces expulsion due to her behavior, Blair, Tootie, and Natalie band together to help her stay at Eastland and convince Mrs. Garrett to give her a chance to thrive in the new environment. Meanwhile, the girls also deal with their own personal issues, including Blair's insecure feelings about her intelligence and Tootie's fear of being bullied by the mean girls at school. The episode ends with the girls celebrating Jo's successful first week at Eastland and welcoming her into their tight-knit group of friends.
