Ep 2. God Tongue

In Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma season 1 episode 2, entitled "God Tongue," the story continues with Soma, the main protagonist, dealing with the aftermath of his victory over a rival in the first episode. As he prepares to begin his studies at Totsuki Culinary Academy, a prestigious school for aspiring chefs, Soma quickly realizes that he is surrounded by talented and ambitious students who will stop at nothing to prove their worth in the culinary world.

The episode introduces the character of Erina Nakiri, the granddaughter of Totsuki's founder and one of the school's top students. Known as the "God Tongue," Erina has a remarkable ability to taste food and instantly determine its quality, making her a highly respected figure in the culinary world. However, her arrogance and frequent dismissals of other chefs' abilities have earned her the resentment of many students, including Soma.

Despite their initial clash, Soma is determined to prove himself as a worthy adversary to Erina and earn her respect. He sets his sights on the school's upcoming Autumn Elections, a cutthroat cooking competition where only the top 10 students will be chosen to participate.

Soma's first challenge comes in the form of an elimination test, where he must create a dish that showcases the versatility of eggs. With time running out and the other students pushing him to his limits, Soma manages to create a dish that impresses even Erina, who begrudgingly admits that it was the best dish of the day.

However, Soma's victory is short-lived as he soon faces a new challenge in the form of the school's rigid hierarchy and the unfair advantages that some students possess.
