Four in a Bed is a popular British television series that follows bed and breakfast (B&B) owners as they stay at each other's establishments and pay what they think the stay is worth. In season 8 episode 2, the four B&B owners head to the lovely village of Eynsford in Kent to check out The Old Diary, run by Superhosts Nicki and Doug.

As the episode starts, the four owners arrive at the Old Dairy, a charming guest house that used to be a dairy farm. The first to arrive is Dave, who runs The Fox Inn in Northumberland. Dave has been in the B&B business for more than 30 years, but he still thinks he has plenty to learn and sees this show as a perfect opportunity to do just that.

Next up is Chrissie, who runs Number One St Luke's, a luxurious B&B in Brighton. She is all about the details and believes that attention to the smallest things is what sets her establishment apart.

Third to arrive is Peter, who runs The Brickwall Hotel in East Sussex. Peter has had a successful career in business and now runs his B&B as a hobby. He's in it for the enjoyment and doesn't take things too seriously.

Last but not least is Paul, who runs the Vineyard B&B in Kent. Paul is a bit of a perfectionist and feels that his attention to detail and high standards make his establishment stand out from the rest.

Once they arrive, they take a tour of the Old Dairy and meet Nicki and Doug, who welcome them warmly. The Old Diary has four guest rooms, each with its en-suite bathroom. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and the owners are impressed with the attention to detail, especially the homemade biscuits and the quality of the bed linens.

During their stay, the owners take part in various activities. They explore the local area and visit the nearby castle, which dates back to the 11th century. They also take part in a pottery-making class, which proves to be a fun and creative experience.

Back at the Old Dairy, Nicki and Doug serve up a delicious breakfast each morning, which includes homemade bread, local sausages, and bacon. The owners are impressed with the quality of the food, and Peter even helps out in the kitchen.

As the week progresses, the owners begin to have their concerns. Dave is unhappy with the size of the room he has been given and thinks it's overpriced, while Chrissie is unhappy with the placement of her room and the lack of a proper shower screen. Paul thinks that the homemade biscuits are a little stale, while Peter feels that the breakfast could be improved.

As is typical in Four in a Bed, tensions rise as the week progresses, with each owner trying to find faults in each other's establishments. The final day arrives, and it's time for the owners to pay up. They each give their honest opinion of the other three establishments and pay what they believe their stay is worth.

Overall, the Old Diary proves to be a hit with the owners, who are impressed with the high standards, attention to detail, and warm welcome from Nicki and Doug. Will the Old Dairy be declared the winner of this round? You'll have to tune in to find out.
