Ep 21. Where There's Smoke There's Fired

Frasier season 3 episode 21 titled "Where There's Smoke There's Fired" begins with Frasier receiving a call from his boss, Kate Costas, informing him that they need to have a talk about his radio show. Frasier believes that Kate is wanting to discuss a promotion for him, but when he meets with her, he finds out that she's upset about some comments he made on his show about the mayor of Seattle.

In order to make amends with the mayor, Frasier is forced to attend a dinner party hosted by the mayor and his wife. However, Frasier and Niles soon discover that the party is actually a setup for the mayor's wife, who is having an affair with an artist named Julian. The brothers try to keep the affair under wraps, but things quickly spiral out of control when the mayor's wife decides to end the affair and Julian sets a painting on fire in a fit of rage.

Meanwhile, Martin is dealing with his own crisis when his new girlfriend, Sherry, accidentally burns down his favorite chair. Martin is initially upset, but Sherry convinces him to look on the bright side and see it as an opportunity to get a new chair that he's always wanted. However, when Martin goes to the furniture store, he finds out that the chair is no longer being made and he's forced to settle for a cheaper, less comfortable version.

As the episode progresses, tensions rise at the dinner party and Frasier and Niles end up getting caught in the middle of a messy love triangle. When Julian sets the painting on fire, chaos ensues and the brothers are forced to come up with a plan to save the day. Ultimately, they manage to put out the fire and keep the affair a secret from the mayor and his wife.

In the end, Frasier is able to make amends with Kate and keep his job, while Martin and Sherry manage to salvage their relationship despite the chair debacle. "Where There's Smoke There's Fired" is an entertaining and humorous episode with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers on their toes.
