Sophist Boy Has Captured The Prince is the 21st episode of the first season of the anime Fruits Basket. The episode opens up with the Sohma family hosting a banquet at their lavish estate. The banquet is thrown in honor of Akito's visit from the hospital, and the entire family is in attendance. However, Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo are not invited and are left behind at home.

Kyo, who is already feeling down about being separated from Tohru and Yuki, becomes even more irritable when he smells Tohru's scent on Yuki's clothing. Meanwhile, Tohru is busy trying to make dinner at home when she receives a surprise visit from Uotani and Hanajima. The two girls quickly notice that Tohru is in a foul mood and try to cheer her up by playing a game.

As the banquet continues at the Sohma estate, Yuki is approached by the strange, effeminate Misaki Shohma, who introduces himself as Ayame's younger brother. Misaki refers to himself as a "sophist boy" and expresses his admiration for Yuki, calling him the "prince". Yuki, who is initially put off by Misaki's strange behavior, soon finds himself intrigued by Misaki's ability to manipulate and charm people. Misaki entertains Yuki with his stories and antics, and the two end up spending a lot of time together.

Meanwhile, Kyo is still feeling upset about being left out of the banquet and about Yuki spending time with Misaki. He takes out his anger on a punching bag and starts to talk to Tohru about how he feels. Tohru, who is still upset about being left out too, tries to cheer Kyo up and suggests they go for a walk.

As they are walking, Kyo and Tohru run into Ayame, who is on a break from the banquet. Ayame, who is an eccentric and flamboyant character, starts to tease Kyo and Tohru about their relationship. Kyo becomes embarrassed and angry, and Tohru is left feeling uncomfortable and out of place.

Back at the banquet, Yuki is still talking with Misaki and starts to open up about his insecurities and fears. Misaki encourages Yuki to be true to himself and not worry about what others think of him. However, when Yuki starts to open up about his relationship with Akito, Misaki becomes alarmed and tells Yuki to stay away from Akito.

As the episode comes to a close, Kyo and Tohru return home and find that Yuki has returned from the banquet as well. Yuki seems to be in a good mood, but Kyo is still feeling down. Tohru tries to cheer Kyo up by showing him a picture of herself as a toddler wearing a silly hat. Kyo starts to feel better and the three friends spend the rest of the evening talking and laughing together.

Sophist Boy Has Captured The Prince is a light-hearted episode that focuses on the relationships between the characters, and their individual struggles to fit in and find their place in the world. The episode introduces new characters like Misaki and Ayame, who add to the already eclectic cast of characters in Fruits Basket.
