Ep 2. Million Dollar Season

In the second episode of season three of Gold Rush: Alaska, titled "Million Dollar Season," the mining crews face various challenges while trying to extract gold in the harsh Alaskan wilderness.

The episode begins with the Hoffman crew facing mechanical problems with their wash plant, which is preventing them from processing as much dirt as they need to in order to meet their goal of 100 ounces of gold for the season. The crew works tirelessly to fix the issue, but tensions rise as they fall further behind schedule.

Meanwhile, over at the Big Nugget Mine, 19-year-old Parker Schnabel is in charge of the operation and faces his own set of challenges. He's struggling to find enough pay dirt to keep the sluice boxes running, and his workers are having trouble navigating the steep terrain. To make matters worse, Parker receives news that could potentially derail his entire season.

Over at the Porcupine Creek mine, Dakota Fred and his son Dustin are dealing with a different problem altogether- an infestation of mosquitos. The pesky insects are driving the crew crazy, and they take drastic measures to try and eliminate them. But even with the mosquitos (mostly) under control, the Dakota boys still have to contend with their aging equipment and lack of water, which is making it difficult to find enough gold to make their operation profitable.

Finally, we check in on newcomer Todd Hoffman and his crew, who are determined to find enough gold to make up for last season's disappointing results. They start off the episode with a bang, uncovering a promising looking dirt pile that yields several ounces of gold. But as the days go on, they struggle to find more pay dirt, and tensions within the crew start to rise. Todd's right-hand man, Dave Turin, tries to keep things under control, but it's beginning to look like the team may not be able to reach their lofty goal.

Throughout the episode, we see the crews battling mother nature, equipment breakdowns, and each other as they all strive to strike it rich in the Alaskan wilderness. It's a thrilling ride full of highs and lows, and by the end, we're left wondering who will come out on top.
