Fonzie Joins the Band is the nineteenth episode of the second season of the classic TV show Happy Days. The show revolves around the daily lives of the Cunningham family and their friends in the 1950s.

In this episode, Fonzie, who is known for his cool and collected demeanor, is asked to join a local band called The Velvetones. The band had recently lost their lead singer, and they need someone to fill in for an upcoming performance. Initially hesitant, Fonzie eventually agrees to join the band after they convince him that it will boost his image as a tough guy.

Meanwhile, Richie Cunningham, the protagonist of the show, is having trouble finding a summer job. He and his best friend, Potsie, spend their time hanging out at the diner, where they meet two girls named Cindy and Susie. The boys are eager to impress the girls and end up lying to them about their job prospects. They claim to be making big money at a local construction site, but in reality, they are struggling to find work.

As Fonzie prepares to perform with The Velvetones, the other members of the band begin to doubt his ability to sing. They have only ever heard him speak, and they are unsure of his musical talent. In an effort to prove them wrong, Fonzie decides to go all out and perform a rock and roll rendition of the classic opera tune, "Pagliacci."

The audience is initially shocked by Fonzie's unorthodox performance, but eventually, they get into it and start dancing. The Velvetones are grateful to Fonzie for saving their show and offer him a permanent spot in the band. However, Fonzie declines the offer, realizing that his real passion lies in his motorcycle and his day job as a mechanic.

Meanwhile, Richie and Potsie's lies catch up with them when Cindy and Susie show up at the supposed construction site. The girls are shocked to see that the boys are not working at all and are just hanging out with their friends. Embarrassed, Richie and Potsie have to come clean and admit that they lied to impress the girls. Fortunately, Cindy and Susie are understanding and forgive them for their deception.

In the end, Fonzie and Richie learn valuable lessons about honesty, friendship, and following your passions. The episode is full of humor, rock and roll music, and heartwarming moments that showcase the show's enduring appeal.
