Episode 2 - Money's Tiger

In this episode, we see our protagonist, Hayate Ayasaki, starting his job as a butler for the wealthy and extravagant Nagi Sanzenin. However, things don't go smoothly for Hayate, as he struggles to grasp the concept of being a butler and fails miserably at his first duty - serving tea to Nagi.

Meanwhile, Nagi's friends arrive at the mansion and start playing a game called "Money's Tiger," which involves an intense battle of wits and strategy. Hayate is introduced to the game and shows a natural aptitude for it, impressing everyone with his intelligence. However, when he mentions that he needs to earn money to repay his debts, Nagi and her friends exploit his talents by using him to win the game and earn vast sums of money.

The episode takes an emotional turn when Hayate's past is revealed through a flashback. We learn that he was neglected as a child by his parents, who were addicted to gambling and left him with an insurmountable debt. Hayate's love for his parents led him to try and pay off their debts, but his attempts only resulted in him accumulating more debt. This led to him being kidnapped by loan sharks, who threatened to sell him off as a slave. It was at this moment that Nagi saved him and offered him a job as her butler.

Despite the revelation of Hayate's tragic past, the episode ends on a comedic note as Hayate's efforts to win "Money's Tiger" continue to fail. He even tries cheating in desperation but is caught hilariously by Nagi.
