Hayate no Gotoku Season 1 Episode 22 Episode 22 - Keep on Dreaming

Hayate no Gotoku, or also known as Hayate the Combat Butler, follows the life of Hayate Ayasaki, a 16-year-old boy who was abandoned by his parents and is working hard to pay off their debt. In season 1 episode 22, titled "Keep on Dreaming," we see Hayate facing a tough decision regarding his future.

The episode starts with Hayate and Nagi Sanzenin, his employer, relaxing at home. Nagi mentions that she wants to go to a concert that evening, but Hayate tells her that he cannot accompany her since he has to go to a cram school. Nagi teases him and says that he is too busy studying, but Hayate explains that he has to work hard if he ever wants to get into a good college.

While at cram school, Hayate has a conversation with one of his classmates, Izumi Segawa. Izumi asks Hayate what his dream is, and he confesses that he does not really have one. Izumi tells Hayate that he should find something he is passionate about and strive to achieve it. This conversation leaves Hayate thinking about his future and what he wants to do with his life.

Later that night, Nagi comes home from the concert and tells Hayate how amazing it was. She mentions how the performer, Athena Tennousu, has inspired her to chase her dreams. Nagi encourages Hayate to do the same and to never give up on his dreams.

The next day, Hayate decides to take Izumi's advice and tries to find a dream he is passionate about. He asks his co-workers at the Maid Café for ideas, but nothing really speaks to him. Meanwhile, Nagi receives a letter from Athena Tennousu herself, inviting her to a private concert. Nagi is overjoyed and realizes that this is her chance to meet someone who has inspired her so much.

Hayate, on the other hand, is still struggling to find his dream. He thinks about his childhood and how he used to dream of becoming a hero. He decides to chase that dream and becomes determined to become a hero who saves people in need.

Later that day, Nagi and Hayate attend Athena Tennousu's private concert. Nagi is starstruck by Athena, but Hayate notices something strange about her. He realizes that Athena seems sad and withdrawn. After the concert, Hayate and Nagi have a chance encounter with Athena, and Hayate decides to have a conversation with her.

Hayate learns that Athena is actually Nagi's childhood friend and that they used to be very close. However, they had a falling out over a misunderstanding, and Athena has been trying to reconnect with Nagi ever since. Hayate realizes that his dream is not just about becoming a hero but also about helping people in need, like Athena.

The episode ends with Hayate being inspired by Athena's determination to make amends with Nagi. He realizes that he wants to be like her and never give up on his dreams. The episode leaves viewers with the message that it's never too late to chase your dreams and to never give up on them.
