Lucy's Working Daughter is the tenth episode of the first season of the classic sitcom Here's Lucy. The show stars Lucille Ball as Lucy Carter, a widow raising her two children, Kim and Craig, with the help of her hilarious friend and co-worker Mary Jane (played by Mary Jane Croft). In this episode, Lucy's eldest daughter Kim (played by Lucie Arnaz) gets a job as a receptionist at a talent agency, much to Lucy's dismay.

At first, Lucy is thrilled to hear that Kim has gotten a job. She's proud of her daughter and excited to hear about the glamorous world of show business. But when Kim tells her the name of the agency she's working for - Gorman Talent - Lucy's mood shifts. She's heard rumors that the owner, Mr. Gorman (played by Frank Nelson), is a bit of a snake. Lucy warns Kim to be careful and to keep an eye out for any suspicious behavior.

The day of Kim's first day on the job, Lucy decides to surprise her by dropping by the office. She's determined to meet Mr. Gorman and get a feel for the place. When she arrives, however, she finds that the agency is a far cry from the glamorous world she had imagined. The office is small and dreary, filled with outdated furniture and unenthusiastic employees. Lucy is shocked to see that Mr. Gorman is actually a woman (played by Ann Morgan Guilbert). She introduces herself and begins to make small talk, but the conversation quickly turns awkward when Lucy blurts out her concerns about the rumors she's heard.

Meanwhile, Kim is struggling in her new position. She's constantly being yelled at by Mr. Gorman, who seems to be perpetually angry about something. The other employees are no better - they're rude and lazy, and refuse to help Kim when she needs it. Despite her best efforts, Kim can't seem to please anyone, and her confidence begins to wane.

Back at the office, Lucy's impromptu visit is causing more trouble than she realizes. Mr. Gorman is infuriated by Lucy's accusations, and even more upset that Kim didn't tell her mother to keep her nose out of their business. Lucy tries to smooth things over, but it's too late - the damage has been done.

The rest of the episode is a classic tale of miscommunication and misunderstandings. Lucy and Kim try to navigate their way through the choppy waters of their relationship, while Mr. Gorman plots her revenge from the sidelines. In the end, of course, everything turns out okay - but not before a few more hilarious hijinks from Lucy and Mary Jane.

Overall, Lucy's Working Daughter is a fun and lighthearted episode of Here's Lucy that showcases the show's signature brand of physical comedy and witty banter. Lucille Ball is at her best as the loving but overbearing mother, while Lucie Arnaz shines as the plucky, determined Kim. Fans of classic sitcoms will love this episode, which still holds up decades after it was first aired.
