In the "Mini-Mogul" episode of House of Lies season 1, we see Marty and his team trying to land a new client named Andrew, who is a young and ambitious entrepreneur. Andrew has created a successful startup and now wants to expand his business. However, Andrew is a bit of a wild card and has a tendency to act on impulse, which makes him difficult to handle.
Marty sees this as an opportunity to prove his worth as a consultant and decides to take on the challenge of working with Andrew. He and his team start to assess Andrew's company, but soon realize that they are dealing with much more than they anticipated. They discover that Andrew's business model is not sustainable and that he has been using shady practices to inflate his numbers.
Marty and his team have to decide how to approach Andrew about these issues without completely alienating him. However, in doing so, Marty must also deal with his own internal struggle about the ethics of the consulting world and whether or not he is really making a difference in the lives of the people he works with.
Meanwhile, Jeannie has her own problems to deal with. She has become romantically involved with a client, but she knows that this goes against company policy. She tries to keep things professional, but this becomes increasingly difficult as she spends more time with him. She also has to deal with the fact that her ex is dating a younger, attractive woman, which makes her feel insecure.
In this episode, we see Marty and his team tackling complex ethical and personal issues while still trying to land a high-profile client. As always, House of Lies delivers sharp dialogue, witty humor, and compelling characters. This episode is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys a smart, engaging, and thought-provoking TV series.
