Marty and his team of consultants are brought on by a conservative Utah senator's campaign to help him win his re-election bid. The team quickly realizes that the senator's values clash with their own and they struggle to find a way to spin his hardline stance on immigration and women's issues.

Meanwhile, Marty's personal life is falling apart as he struggles with the aftermath of his recent divorce. His ex-wife April is withholding visitation with their son Roscoe, and Marty is forced to take drastic measures to try and regain the upper hand.
