Hunters is an American television series created by David Weil and executive produced by Jordan Peele. The show first premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2020, and features a star-studded cast including veteran actor Al Pacino, Lena Olin, Logan Lerman, Carol Kane, Greg Austin, Celia Weston, Barbara Sukowa, Jerrika Hinton, Saul Rubinek, Josh Radnor, Tiffany Boone, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Kate Mulvany, and Dylan Baker.

The show is set in 1977 New York City and follows a ragtag team of Nazi hunters determined to bring a group of high-ranking Nazi officials to justice for their crimes against humanity during World War II. Al Pacino stars as Meyer Offerman, the leader of the group, who recruits young and idealistic Jonah Heidelbaum (Logan Lerman) to join his mission.

Throughout the season, we see the team go on various missions to track down and eliminate former Nazis and their associates, all while dealing with their own personal demons and conflicts within the group. Lena Olin stars as The Colonel, a former Auschwitz guard who now works with the hunters to atone for her past actions. Carol Kane plays Mindy Markowitz, a former Holocaust survivor who uses her experience and connections to help the team.

The show tackles serious and complex themes such as genocide, trauma, and revenge, while also blending in elements of dark comedy and pulp fiction. The team's missions are often exaggerated and over-the-top, featuring graphic violence and creative kills, but are balanced out by poignant character moments and flashbacks that delve into the characters' pasts.

One of the standout performances of the show is Pacino's, who imbues his character with a mix of suave charm, gravitas, and vulnerability. Lerman also delivers a strong performance as the show's protagonist, who's torn between his desire for justice and his own personal demons.

In addition to its talented cast, Hunters also boasts a stylish and colorful visual aesthetic. The show's 1970s setting is brought to life with bright colors, funky music, and bold fashion choices. The show's opening credits, which feature a montage of vintage footage and graphic design, have become a fan favorite.

Hunters has received mixed reviews since its debut, with some critics praising its bold vision and unapologetic approach to its subject matter, while others have criticized its tonal inconsistencies and heavy-handed storytelling. However, it has undoubtedly sparked discussions and raised awareness about the Holocaust and the ongoing fight against hate and bigotry.

Overall, Hunters is a thrilling and thought-provoking show with a strong cast, ambitious storytelling, and a unique visual style. It's a show that's not afraid to take risks, and while it may not be for everyone, it's definitely worth checking out for those who enjoy genre-bending stories and politically charged narratives.

Hunters is a series that is currently running and has 2 seasons (18 episodes). The series first aired on February 21, 2020.
