If Walls Could Talk...

If Walls Could Talk is a show that takes inquiring minds on a journey through stunning historic homes throughout America. Hosted by Mike Siegel, this Home and Garden Network Television production goes on the roads across the US to visit the homeowners and hear their stories of how they discovered the past of their beloved home.

The guests featured on these shows all have one thing in common, they love the older homes and the character they provide. Whether they have inherited the home, or they have purchased it with a renovation in mind, they often find many unique things within the walls and in hidden spaces of the home. These items can be precious mementos of families that used to live in the homes, or they can be priceless works of art incorporated into the design.

Many of the people delve into the history of the home and learn as much about the home and its inhabitants as they can. Finding historical documents can include hitting the library or asking neighbors for information. Some of the homes have had famous people living in them and others just have old world charm that seems to call to the new owners. What is interesting is the homes that find they have significant historical events that have happened right on their properties that are important to American History or their towns.

The actual owners give eyewitness accounts to every uncovered item. If the items appear to be of great value, like one stained glass window, the show will bring in an appraiser to review the piece and quote a price. While most find that their treasures are worth more sentimental value than monitory, they still love them the same. There have been a few shocking moments when things were worth more than they could have ever imagined, but these owners have no intentions of parting with their treasures.

This show showcase homes with a colorful past and those that have endured great tragedies. Most of these homes have been restored to their original luster and are full of stories to tell.
