She is determined to get her money back and won't stop until she does.

As we see in the flashback, Maddie is an expert con artist and her meticulous planning is evident in every move she makes. She seduces her marks and then disappears with their money. When we meet her, she is in the process of running another con, planting evidence that leads her latest mark, Patrick, to believe she's been kidnapped by a dangerous criminal. Little does he know, it's all part of Maddie's plan.

After Maddie's disappearance, Ezra, Richard, Jules and Sally all set out to find her. Their searches take them in different directions, but they inevitably cross paths. The episode is a rollercoaster of emotions, with each character dealing with the aftermath of being duped and trying to come to terms with their betrayal.
