In this episode of Josh Gates' Destination Truth, the team travels to Africa to investigate various mysterious occurrences. Josh and his team are determined to gather as much evidence as possible to solve these African Mysteries. The first stop on their trip is to Namibia where they explore the infamous Aukum Desert, home of the "ghost lights". These ghost lights are said to appear sporadically during the night and have been the topic of many debates, with locals believing they are supernatural, while others believe it's simply a natural occurrence.
The team then heads to South Africa's Kruger National Park to investigate an alleged creature sighting. The crew meet with locals who report seeing a giant worm-like creature in the park that is said to grow up to 9 meters long. The team sets up surveillance cameras and searches for any evidence of the creature, hoping to solve the mystery of the giant worm in Mongolia.
Their next stop is Ethiopia, where steep ancient ruins and legends of vampires have piqued the team's interest. They explore a creepy underground maze constructed centuries ago known as the Lalibela church. While wandering, they also investigate some strange happenings, including inexplicable sounds and sightings. They then head to the depths of the nearby river to search for the origins of vampire legends.
As they proceed to move further into Africa, their next stop is to investigate the Mbielu-Mbielu-Mbielu, reported to be a giant dinosaur-like creature that lives in the Congo River. The legend of the Mbielu-Mbielu-Mbielu has been circulating for centuries and locals believe the creature lives in the Congo. The crew sets up camp along the river and embarks on an expedition to track down the creature.
Continuing the adventure, the team journey to the remote forests of Ghana in search of the elusive Sasabonsam, a vampire-like creature that is thought to dwell in the trees. The locals believe the Sasabonsam is real and the team's task is to uncover any hard evidence that could prove or debunk the legend. After spending hours looking for the creature, they come across a few clues that they use to form some theories about the Sasabonsam.
Finally, the crew heads to Uganda to investigate the country's legend of the Mokele mbembe. The creature is believed to be a long-necked version of a sauropod dinosaur and can only be found in the dense jungles of Africa. The team carries out a comprehensive exploration of the forest, interviewing locals and trying to find any signs of the creature.
Overall, the Josh Gates' Destination Truth team has visited a diversity of locations and explored various legends and mysteries in this episode. With the help of locals and the latest technological tools, Josh and the team offer possible explanations to previously unsolved African Mysteries and the Giant Worm in Mongolia, testing their adventurous investigation skills within the wild lands of Africa.
