In this episode of Judge Judy, a plaintiff and defendant are in a legal dispute over a business venture. The plaintiff claims that he and the defendant were friends for over a decade and when the plaintiff got a job offer, he asked the defendant to come work with him. The defendant agreed and they went into business together, but according to the plaintiff, things started to go downhill quickly.
The plaintiff claims that the defendant was lazy and showed up late to work consistently, and that he wasn't pulling his weight. Despite this, the plaintiff continued to pay the defendant as agreed. However, as time went on, the defendant began to make unauthorized purchases for the business with funds from their joint account. The plaintiff claims that the purchases were for personal use, not business use, and that the defendant was essentially stealing from the company.
When confronted, the defendant allegedly became defensive and refused to admit any wrongdoing. Furthermore, the plaintiff claims that the defendant even went as far as to try and sell the company's assets without the plaintiff's knowledge or consent.
Now, the plaintiff is taking the defendant to Judge Judy to try and recoup the money that he claims was stolen from him. The defendant, however, claims that the plaintiff is just bitter because the business didn't do as well as they hoped and that he's trying to shift the blame onto him.
As with all Judge Judy episodes, tensions run high as both parties argue their case and try to prove that they are in the right. Judge Judy listens intently as both sides make their arguments, and she cuts through the emotion and gets to the heart of the matter.
Ultimately, it will be up to Judge Judy to decide which party is telling the truth and who is responsible for the losses that were incurred. Will the plaintiff be able to prove that the defendant stole from the company, or will the defendant be able to convince Judge Judy that the plaintiff is just trying to blame him for their failed business venture? Tune in to find out.
