The mother, who owns a pageant coaching business, claims that she was contacted by the defendant, who expressed an interest in hiring her as a coach for her daughter's upcoming pageant. The mother agreed but soon realized that the daughter was already receiving coaching from someone else.
The defendant allegedly paid the mother thousands of dollars for coaching, but the mother claims she never received the money. The daughter alleges that the coaching sessions were never completed, and that the mother and daughter team are simply trying to scam the defendant out of her hard earned money. Judy must unravel the complex web of lies to determine who is telling the truth.
In the second case, viewers meet a business owner who claims that she lost everything due to COVID-19. The defendant in this case rented a space from the plaintiff to open a nail salon in January of 2020. The defendant claims that she invested tens of thousands of dollars into the business, only to have it shut down due to the pandemic. She alleges that she made numerous attempts to contact the plaintiff to renegotiate the rent, but was met with silence.
The plaintiff, on the other hand, claims that the defendant never paid rent on time and left the space in a state of disrepair. Judy must determine whether or not the defendant had a valid reason for being unable to pay rent, and whether the plaintiff made a good faith effort to communicate with her tenant.
As always, Judge Judy's no-nonsense approach to justice is on full display as she strives to get to the heart of each case. Viewers will be left on the edge of their seats as they watch these two compelling cases unfold.
