KanColle - Kantai Collection (Original Japanese Version) season 1 episode 1, titled "1. Hello, Commander!" introduces us to the world of KanColle. The show is set in an alternate timeline where humanity has learned to battle using the spirits of historical naval ships called "kanmusu" or "fleet girls."

The episode opens with a young girl named Fubuki, who has just arrived at Yokosuka Naval Base to become a new kanmusu. Fubuki is nervous and unsure of herself, but eager to prove her worth. She starts exploring the base and is in awe of the fleet girls she sees, who resemble the ships they were modeled after.

As Fubuki is wandering, she hears a voice calling out to her. It is the voice of a blond girl named Akagi, who identifies herself as a carrier and welcomes Fubuki to the base. She tells Fubuki that she will be her mentor and help her become a great kanmusu.

The two girls are interrupted by a loudspeaker announcement informing all fleet girls to gather for a briefing. Fubuki is excited to finally meet more of her kind. At the briefing, the girls learn that a new enemy, called the Abyssal Fleet, has appeared and is attacking naval ships. The kanmusus' mission is to protect the sea and defeat the Abyssals.

After the briefing, Akagi takes Fubuki to meet the admiral, who is in charge of the base. The admiral is a human male who has the ability to communicate with the kanmusus. He warmly welcomes Fubuki and gives her a tour of the base. Fubuki is amazed by the different facilities and equipment, such as the dockyard where damaged ships are repaired, and the armory where the kanmusus' weapons are stored.

During the tour, Fubuki meets other kanmusus, each with their own unique personalities. There is Mutsuki, a shy girl who shows Fubuki around; Yuudachi, a hyperactive destroyer who insists on calling Fubuki "poi"; and Kongou, a battleship with an elegant demeanor. Fubuki is somewhat overwhelmed by all the new people she is meeting, but she tries her best to be friendly.

Later, Fubuki has her first battle against the Abyssal Fleet. She is nervous and unsure of herself, but Akagi and the other kanmusus encourage her. Fubuki fights bravely, but she is not strong enough to defeat the enemy alone.

The episode ends with Fubuki returning to base, tired but satisfied with her first battle. She feels like she has a lot to learn, but she is determined to become a great kanmusu and protect the sea. The other girls welcome her back and congratulate her on a job well done.

Overall, "1. Hello, Commander!" introduces us to the world of KanColle and sets up the premise for the series. We get a glimpse of the different characters and their personalities, as well as the conflict they will be facing in upcoming episodes. The episode is well-paced and enjoyable, leaving the viewer excited for more.
