Ep 1. Pilot

In the first episode of "Kenan," titled "Pilot," we are introduced to the titular character, Kenan Williams, a widowed father of two young daughters who works as a morning show host in Atlanta. Kenan is trying to balance his career with his responsibilities as a parent and his own grief over the loss of his wife.

The episode begins with Kenan rushing to get his daughters, Aubrey and Birdie, ready for school and himself ready for work. He is clearly frazzled and struggling to keep everything together, but he manages to pull it off, despite some mishaps like forgetting to pack Aubrey's lunch.

Kenan delivers a heartfelt tribute to his late wife on his morning show, but things quickly go off the rails when his co-host, Mika, interrupts with a breaking news story about a traffic accident that turns out to be a viral video prank. Kenan is visibly frustrated with Mika's antics and her lack of professionalism, which leads to some tense moments between the two of them.

Later in the day, Kenan is surprised to learn that his father-in-law, Rick, is coming to visit. Kenan has a strained relationship with Rick and is nervous about how he will react to seeing Kenan as a single father. He confides in his brother, Gary, who suggests that they try to bond over their shared love of basketball.

When Rick arrives, Kenan's fears are realized as Rick is critical of Kenan's parenting skills and seems more interested in spending time with Aubrey and Birdie than with Kenan. Things take a turn for the worse when Rick loses his wallet and accuses Kenan of stealing it.

Despite these challenges, Kenan manages to salvage the situation with some help from his daughters and his co-workers. He even lands a major interview with a celebrity guest for his show, which helps boost his confidence and show Rick that he is capable of balancing all of his responsibilities.

Overall, the "Kenan" pilot is a heartfelt and funny introduction to a character who is juggling a lot in his life. We get a sense of Kenan's complicated family dynamics, his struggles with grief and fatherhood, and his desire to succeed in his career. There are some great comedic moments, particularly between Kenan and Mika, but there are also some poignant and emotional scenes that show us the depth of Kenan's character. It's a promising start to what looks like a compelling and entertaining series.
