In the seventh season of Last Man Standing, we follow Mike Baxter, a conservative father of three daughters, as he navigates parenting, marriage, and politics in a world that seems to be moving away from values he holds dear. In episode 6, titled "The Courtship of Vanessa's Mother," we see Mike's wife Vanessa struggling with the idea of her mother, who she has always seen as a prim and proper widow, dating again.
As Vanessa tries to dissuade her mother from dating, Mike is more than happy to play matchmaker for her. But as he sets her up with a friend of his, the situation quickly spirals out of control, and Mike finds himself in a strange position of having to defend his actions to Vanessa's mother.
Elsewhere in the episode, Mike's youngest daughter Eve is struggling to keep up with her ROTC program and turns to her older sister Mandy for help. But as Mandy teaches her the ropes, she begins to question whether she herself has what it takes to succeed.
As always, the episode is full of hilarious one-liners, heartwarming family moments, and a healthy dose of political commentary. Fans of the show will not be disappointed by "The Courtship of Vanessa's Mother."
