The robot, named Mr. Cowles, is played by actor Dick Van Patten, who is famous for his roles in the television shows Eight is Enough and The Love Boat. Mr. Cowles tries to prove that he is innocent and that his intention was not to hurt anyone. However, things take a comical turn when the robot malfunctions again on the stand and starts spewing out random phrases and making weird noises.
