Beaver Takes a Bath is the second episode of the third season of the iconic sitcom Leave It to Beaver. The episode first aired on October 8, 1959, and follows the misadventures of Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver, as he tries to take a bath.

The episode begins with Beaver's mother, June Cleaver, asking him to take a bath before dinner. Beaver, who is busy playing with his friends, protests that he doesn't need a bath. However, June insists, telling him that he needs to be clean and fresh for dinner.

Beaver reluctantly agrees, but when he gets into the bathroom, he realizes that he is out of bubble bath. He calls out to his brother, Wally, asking him to bring some bubble bath. When Wally tells him that there is none left, Beaver is disappointed and decides that he doesn't want to take a bath after all.

June overhears their conversation and tells Beaver that he can use plain soap and water. However, Beaver is still not convinced, and he concocts a plan to avoid taking a bath altogether.

He sneaks out of the house and goes to a nearby convenience store, where he buys a bottle of perfume and an unguent called "Soft and Silky," which he believes will make him smell good enough to go to dinner.

Back at home, Beaver tries to apply the perfume and the unguent, but he ends up making a mess in the bathroom. He drops the bottle of perfume, spilling it all over the floor and himself, and tries to clean it up with toilet paper. Meanwhile, the unguent leaves him covered in a sticky residue, making him look and smell even worse than he did before.

Horrified by his own appearance, Beaver tries to clean himself up, but his attempts only make things worse. He ends up flooding the bathroom with soap and water, prompting his father, Ward, to investigate.

Ward finds Beaver in the bathroom, covered in soap and perfume, and scolds him for making such a mess. He tells Beaver that he must take a bath, and insists on supervising him to make sure that he does it properly.

Reluctantly, Beaver gets in the tub, only to find that the water is too hot. He screams, causing his mother and brother to rush in to see what's wrong. They find Beaver in the tub, surrounded by bubbles and soap, and laughing hysterically.

In the end, Beaver comes to realize that taking a bath is not so bad after all, and that he actually enjoys the feeling of being clean and fresh. He thanks his father for making him take a bath, and promises to do so regularly from now on.
