In the third season of the classic family sitcom Leave It to Beaver, Episode 7 titled "Borrowed Boat" follows the misadventures of the Cleaver family as Beaver's curiosity leads him and his brother Wally into a bit of trouble.

The episode opens with Beaver, played by Jerry Mathers, trying to convince his parents, June and Ward Cleaver, played by Barbara Billingsley and Hugh Beaumont respectively, to let him use their rowboat with Wally, played by Tony Dow, for a day of fishing. Despite some reluctance, Ward eventually agrees as long as the boys promise to be careful and bring the boat back before sundown.

The boys eagerly head off to the lake with the boat, but their plans for a peaceful day on the water are quickly derailed when they come across a group of older boys who invite them to a nearby island for a swim. The boys agree, leaving the boat unattended on the shore.

As they swim and play, a sudden storm rolls in and the boys are forced to take shelter in a nearby cave until the rain subsides. When they finally make it back to the shore, they discover that the boat is missing. Panicking, they realize that they will have to find a way to tell their parents what happened.

As Beaver and Wally try to come up with a plan, they run into some of the boys they had met earlier, who inform them that they had taken the boat out for a joyride and accidentally damaged it. Fearing their parents' reaction, Beaver and Wally concoct a plan to repair the boat themselves and return it to its proper place before their parents find out.

The boys sneak into a nearby boatyard, where they manage to secure the necessary materials to fix the boat. However, their repairs are quickly discovered by the owner of the yard, who threatens to call the police if the boys don't pay for the damages.

With no real options left, Beaver and Wally come clean to their parents, who are understandably upset but impressed with their boys' honesty. Together, the family comes up with a plan to pay for the damages, and the boys learn an important lesson about responsibility and the consequences of their actions.

Overall, "Borrowed Boat" is a classic episode of Leave It to Beaver that highlights the innocent mischief and familial values that made the show such a beloved classic. Its themes of honesty, responsibility, and family reinforce the importance of character and bravery in young adults and remain relevant to this day.
