Ep 22. I'll Be Waving As You Drive Away (2)

Laura is entering into marriage with Almanzo. The moment of truth has arrived and the couple must decide whether they will stay in Walnut Grove or move to start a new life together. Charles is uncomfortable with the idea of Laura leaving so soon. Meanwhile, Almanzo's brother, Royal, shows up. Royal has a serious drinking problem and asks for Almanzo's help, reminding him that family sticks together no matter what. Charles and Caroline both offer their support to Laura and Almanzo as they make their decision. However, neither Laura nor Almanzo can bring themselves to make a decision. Eventually, after much deliberation and with the help of Charles, Laura realizes that she wants to marry Almanzo and move out of Walnut Grove to start their own life together. The residents of Walnut Grove gather to give the couple a farewell party and wish them well on their journey together. The episode ends with Laura and Almanzo driving off in a wagon, eager to begin their new life.
