Ep 1. We'll Follow the Sun

We'll Follow the Sun is the first episode of the fifth season of Married...with Children. This episode follows the dysfunctional Bundy family as they attempt to escape their mundane lives in Chicago by embarking on a road trip to sunny California.

The episode begins with Peggy Bundy, the matriarch of the family, announcing her plans for a family vacation to California. Excited at the prospect of leaving their dreary lives behind, the rest of the family members, including her husband Al, daughter Kelly, and son Bud, jump at the opportunity.

Despite the setbacks, the family remains determined to reach their destination and enjoy a much-needed vacation in the sun. Along the way, they meet a cast of colorful characters, including a group of hitchhikers and a wealthy couple traveling in a luxurious RV.

As the family finally reaches their destination in California, they are met with a beautiful beach and sunny skies. However, their problems do not end there, as they are forced to navigate a series of mishaps and misadventures, including lost luggage, a failed parasailing excursion, and a run-in with a dangerous biker gang.

Through it all, the family manages to find joy in each other's company and in the beauty of their surroundings. Though their vacation ultimately does not go as planned, the family returns to Chicago with a renewed appreciation for each other and the importance of family.

We'll Follow the Sun explores the theme of the American road trip and the pursuit of happiness in the face of adversity. It also highlights the bond between family members in the face of hardship and the importance of finding joy in even the most unlikely of situations. This episode of Married...with Children is a classic example of the show's signature blend of dark humor and familial dysfunction.
