Ep 2. Al ... with Kelly

During the Married...with Children season 5 episode 2, titled "Al...with Kelly," the Bundys' oldest daughter, Kelly, receives a marriage proposal from her dimwitted boyfriend, who wants to marry her because he doesn't want to end up like his father, who abandoned his family. Despite her father, Al, mocking the proposal and her mother, Peggy, refusing to take her seriously, Kelly is determined to accept the proposal. Meanwhile, Al searches for a new job after quitting his shoe salesman job at Gary's Shoes and Accessories for Todays Woman and finds himself working as a door-to-door shoelace salesmen and later as a car salesman.

Throughout the episode, Kelly tries to convince her family that her boyfriend is the one for her, despite his lack of intelligence and ambition. When her parents refuse to take her seriously, she turns to her brother, Bud, for help in planning her wedding. However, Bud is more interested in making money off of the event than helping his sister. As a result, Kelly's wedding planning does not go as she had hoped.

Meanwhile, Al struggles to find a job that he enjoys and that will support his family. He tries working as a door-to-door shoe salesmen, but quickly realizes that it's not for him. He then lands a job as a car salesman at a dealership owned by an old rival, Gary. Despite hating his new job, Al finds some success in selling cars to a group of nuns who are in need of a new vehicle.

As the episode comes to a close, Kelly's wedding planning hits a rough patch when her fiancé's ex-girlfriend shows up and threatens to steal him away. After a cringeworthy catfight, Kelly and her fiancé make up, and their wedding planning resumes. Al, on the other hand, is fired from his job as a car salesman after accidentally selling a lemon to a notorious car thief. However, he remains optimistic that he will find a job that he loves and that will support his family.

Overall, "Al...with Kelly" is a comedic episode that focuses on Kelly's desire to get married and Al's struggles with finding a new job. While both storylines are separate, they both highlight the challenges that come with growing up and trying to establish oneself in the world.
