Ep 8. Bring on the Bad Guys - Part One

In the eighth episode of Marvel's Spider-Man season 2, titled "Bring on the Bad Guys - Part One," Peter Parker (voiced by Robbie Daymond) is still trying to balance his secret life as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man with his studies and personal relationships. However, he soon finds himself facing multiple new threats as several supervillains converge on New York City.

The episode opens with Peter and his best friend Harry Osborn (voiced by Max Mittelman) attending a party at Oscorp Industries, where Harry's father Norman (voiced by Josh Keaton) reveals a new experimental device he calls the "Goblin Serum." However, the party is soon interrupted by the arrival of a group of villains including the Beetle (voiced by Parvesh Cheena), Swarm (voiced by Jim Cummings), and the new villainous trio known as the Savage Six (consisting of Tarantula, Scorpia, and Kraven the Hunter).

Peter quickly dons his Spider-Man costume and tries to fight off the intruders, but he is quickly overwhelmed by their combined strength and teamwork. However, he is saved by the timely arrival of Silver Sable (voiced by Nika Futterman), a mercenary hired by Spider-Man's ally SHIELD to help contain the situation. Despite her tough exterior, Silver Sable agrees to team up with Spider-Man and help him take down the villains.

Meanwhile, in a subplot that will surely be expanded upon in future episodes, Peter's classmate Gwen Stacy (voiced by Laura Bailey) struggles to deal with the aftermath of her father George's recent run-in with the villainous gangster Wilson Fisk (voiced by Fred Tatasciore). George is now in a coma, and Gwen begins to suspect that Fisk may have been involved in his attack.

Throughout the episode, Spider-Man battles various members of the Savage Six and tries to learn more about their mysterious leader, a shadowy figure named the Goblin (voiced by Mark Hamill). Along the way, he also crosses paths with other villains including the Vulture (voiced by Travis Willingham) and Black Cat (voiced by Erica Lindbeck), who may or may not be on his side.

"Bring on the Bad Guys - Part One" sets up what promises to be an action-packed and complex storyline for the rest of the season. The episode delivers plenty of superheroics, witty one-liners, and nods to classic Marvel continuity, all while advancing several ongoing plot threads. Fans of Spider-Man and the wider Marvel universe are sure to enjoy this exciting installment.
