Ep 6. Spies & Lies

Joe insists that the boat is his brother-in-law's and that he is just storing it temporarily. The next morning, Joe finds a ticket on his boat accusing him of violating the city's zoning ordinances. Melissa thinks they should call the city and explain the situation, but Joe is afraid that will only draw more attention to the boat. Instead, he decides to spy on Mrs. Gellar to see if he can catch her doing something illegal and use that as leverage to get her to leave him alone.

Joe enlists Melissa's help to stake out Mrs. Gellar's house, which leads to a series of comical mishaps, including getting caught in the rain and getting distracted by a raccoon. But eventually, they succeed in catching Mrs. Gellar beating her husband at racquetball in their backyard, which is also a zoning violation. Joe confronts her with this information, and she agrees to drop the complaint against him.

Back at home, Melissa and Joe have a heart-to-heart about their co-parenting situation. Joe admits that he relies on Melissa too much and that it's hard for him to let go of control. Melissa reassures him that she loves being his nanny and that they make a good team.
