When the trap is finally sprung, they discover that one of the archaeologists has been stealing the artifacts and replacing them with fake ones. The strange occurrences were all part of his plan to cover up his theft.

Miss Mallard and Willard Widgeon solve the mystery and foil the thief's plan. The head archaeologist is relieved, and the team can continue with their work. Before leaving, Miss Mallard and Willard Widgeon take a tour of the famous pyramids and other historic landmarks around Egypt.
