Motorweek Season 31 Episode 58 2013 Lexus LS & 2013 Chevrolet Spark
In this episode of Motorweek, we take a look at two very different cars - the 2013 Lexus LS and the 2013 Chevrolet Spark. Both of these cars have their own unique features, and are aimed at different markets, so we're excited to get behind the wheel and see what they're all about.
First up is the 2013 Lexus LS. Now in its fourth generation, this flagship luxury sedan has been redesigned with a more aggressive exterior styling, as well as a number of upgrades to its already impressive list of standard features. Under the hood, the LS is available with either a 386-horsepower V8 engine, or a hybrid powertrain that combines a V6 engine with an electric motor for a total output of 438 horsepower. Whichever you choose, you'll find the LS to be a smooth and refined driving experience, with a comfortable ride and plenty of power for passing and merging on the highway.
Inside, the LS is filled with high-quality materials and a long list of standard features, including heated and ventilated front seats, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 19-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. There are also a number of available options, including a rear-seat entertainment system, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera system that provides a bird's-eye view of the car when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces.
Next up is the 2013 Chevrolet Spark, a subcompact car that's aimed at young, urban drivers who are looking for a fun and affordable vehicle that's easy to maneuver in tight spaces. The Spark is available with either a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 84 horsepower, or an all-electric powertrain that provides a range of up to 82 miles on a single charge. While the Spark's small size means that it's not the most powerful car on the road, it's still a fun and peppy little car that's perfectly suited for city driving.
Inside, the Spark is surprisingly spacious, with room for up to four adults to sit comfortably. There's also a decent amount of cargo space, and the rear seats can be folded down to provide even more room for larger items. Standard features on the Spark include air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a four-speaker audio system, while available options include a touchscreen infotainment system, a rearview camera, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Overall, both the 2013 Lexus LS and the 2013 Chevrolet Spark are impressive cars in their own right, each with its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The LS is a luxurious cruiser that's perfect for long highway trips, while the Spark is a fun and practical car that's great for zipping around town. No matter what you're looking for in a car, both of these vehicles are definitely worth considering.
