Motorweek Season 33 Episode 34 2015 Chrysler 200 & 2015 GM Full-Size SUVs
For the latest season of Motorweek, we're taking you for a ride in some of the newest and hottest cars on the market. In this episode, we're focusing on two of the most luxurious vehicles to hit the scene in recent years: the 2015 Chrysler 200 and the 2015 GM Full-Size SUVs.
First up is the 2015 Chrysler 200, a sleek and stylish mid-size sedan that's been completely redesigned from top to bottom. With a longer wheelbase, wider track, and more aerodynamic shape than its predecessor, the 200 is a true standout in its class. Under the hood, you'll find a choice of two engines: a 2.4-liter inline-4 and a 3.6-liter V6, both mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. With the V6, you'll get a healthy 295 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, as well as a fuel economy rating of up to 32 mpg on the highway.
Inside, the 200 is just as impressive. The cabin is spacious and well-appointed, with a modern dashboard layout and intuitive controls. Even the base model comes with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while higher trims offer a larger 8.4-inch display and features like satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and a premium sound system. Safety-wise, the 200 comes with a full array of airbags, stability and traction control, and available features like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
Next, we'll take a closer look at the 2015 GM Full-Size SUVs, including the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, and GMC Yukon. These three models share a common platform and powertrain, but differ in size and amenities. All are powered by a 5.3-liter V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but four-wheel drive is available on all models.
The Tahoe is the smallest of the three, but still packs a lot of punch. It can seat up to eight passengers and tow up to 8,600 pounds when properly equipped. The Suburban is longer and more spacious, with room for up to nine passengers and a maximum towing capacity of 8,300 pounds. Finally, the Yukon offers a more upscale experience, with features like wireless charging, a Bose sound system, and a larger 8-inch infotainment system with navigation.
All three models offer a smooth and comfortable ride, thanks to their long wheelbase and independent rear suspension. They also come with a host of safety features, including rearview camera, parking sensors, and available forward collision warning, lane-departure warning, and rear-seat entertainment systems.
