In the second episode of the ninth season of Mountain Men, titled "Bloody Harvest," we follow the lives of several men who have chosen to live off the grid in the remote wilderness. These rugged individuals live in some of the most inhospitable environments in North America, facing extreme cold, dangerous animals, and isolation from the rest of society.

One of the men we meet in this episode is Tom Oar, who has been living in Montana's Yaak Valley for over 50 years. Tom is a veteran of the wilderness, having spent his life hunting, trapping, and surviving without modern amenities. In "Bloody Harvest," we see Tom preparing for the upcoming winter by trapping beaver and other animals that he can use for their fur and meat. We learn about the ancient techniques that Tom uses to set his traps, and see the satisfaction he takes in being self-sufficient and living off the land.

Another subject of the show is Eustace Conway, who runs a homestead in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Eustace is a master of many skills, including blacksmithing, carpentry, and hunting. In this episode, we follow Eustace as he struggles to control the damage caused by a family of wild hogs that has been tearing up his property. The pigs are a threat to Eustace's livestock and crops, and he puts in a heroic effort to keep them at bay.

Finally, we meet Morgan Beasley, who has built his own cabin in the Alaskan wilderness. Morgan is a trapper and hunter who lives alone in the wilderness for months at a time. In this episode, we watch Morgan as he heads out on a hunting trip to stock up on meat for the winter. We see the challenges he faces, including dealing with the unpredictable weather, navigating the dangerous terrain, and avoiding bears and other predators.

Throughout the episode, we get an up-close look at the daily struggles faced by these men as they live off the grid. We see the risks they take in order to survive, the constant work required to make a living in the wilderness, and the rewards they reap from their self-reliance. The title "Bloody Harvest" gives us a glimpse of the harsh realities that these mountain men face every day, but also speaks to the pride they have in their hard-won independence.

Overall, "Bloody Harvest" is a thrilling and inspiring look at the lives of some of the toughest and most self-sufficient people in North America. The show offers a view into a world that few of us ever see, and reminds us of the beauty and danger of the natural world. Fans of Mountain Men will not want to miss this episode, which promises to be one of the most memorable of the season.
