Ep 6. Meow Mates

Jackson Galaxy, the cat behavior expert, is back with another episode of My Cat From Hell. In the 6th episode of season 10, titled Meow Mates, Jackson visits a couple who have brought together their two cats - one old and one young - in the same home.

The couple, Sarah and Jesse, have two cats who do not seem to get along. The older cat, a Bengal named Koda, has been living with Sarah for years. But when Sarah and Jesse moved in together, they rescued a kitten named Jax. Ever since Jax entered the picture, Koda has become increasingly territorial and aggressive towards him.

But nothing has worked, and the couple is understandably anxious about the future.

Enter Jackson Galaxy, who comes to the home armed with his signature guitar case full of cat toys and treats. Before he can start working with Koda and Jax, he needs to understand their unique personalities and the dynamics of the household. He spends time observing the cats' body language and interactions, making notes about their behavior.

After spending a few days watching the cats and talking to Sarah and Jesse, Jackson has a plan of action. He starts by showing the couple how to set up their home to provide plenty of vertical space for the cats. Cats love to climb and observe their surroundings from a high vantage point, and providing them with shelves and perches will minimize territorial disputes.

Next, Jackson introduces Sarah and Jesse to some new tools to help manage the cats' behavior. He shows them how to use a water bottle to deter Koda from attacking Jax. This method ensures that Koda does not associate punishment with Sarah or Jesse, but rather with his own actions. Jackson also provides some new toys to distract Koda and encourage him to be more playful with Jax.

Before long, Koda and Jax are playing and napping together in the same room. The couple is thrilled to see progress, and Jackson is pleased with how quickly the cats are responding to the new techniques. He checks in with Sarah and Jesse regularly to ensure that their progress is sustained.
