Ep 3. Hangry

Two strangers will be dropped into a remote location, with no food, water or clothes and they will have to survive for 21 days. Season 7, episode 3 of Naked and Afraid is named Hangry and will take place in Belize.

In this episode, we meet two survivalists, Gilbert and Kacie, who are both hungry and thirsty from the moment they land on the island. Kacie is a survival expert, and Gilbert is a former Navy SEAL who is dealing with the aftermath of a divorce. Both have survival experience and are confident in their abilities. However, they are both struggling to adapt to the extreme conditions and lack of food.

The first challenge for Gilbert and Kacie is to find a source of fresh water to drink. They head to a nearby freshwater stream, but quickly discover that it's infested with crocodiles. While they are unsuccessful in their first attempt, they refuse to give up and try again in a different location.

As time passes, their hunger becomes more intense. Gilbert, in particular, is feeling the impact of the lack of food, causing him to become even more irritable and short-tempered. Kacie can see that Gilbert's behavior is starting to negatively impact the dynamic of their partnership, and she's determined to help him find food.

However, finding food on the island is no easy feat. The dense jungle is home to a wide range of wildlife, but all of it is challenging to catch. Gilbert and Kacie try a variety of hunting techniques, including traps and snares. They have no luck with those methods, exposing their limited knowledge of the ecosystem.

As their hunger intensifies and they become more "hangry," they find it difficult to work together, which, inhibiting their joint effort in the struggle for their lives. They hope to strike gold by finding any edible thing that they can, discovering they should not stop as every bit counts and can save lives.

In addition to their hunger, they face other physical and emotional challenges. Gilbert is struggling with his painful divorce, dealing with a mixture of emotions that are heavily upon his shoulders. Meanwhile, Kacie is facing a foot wound which compromises her mobility and decrease the efficiency in gathering the needed resources for food and water.

Over the course of 21 days, Gilbert and Kacie must work together to overcome their hunger, exhaustion, and fears, as they try to survive and thrive on the Belizean Island. With their survival in the hands of mother nature, they must do what it takes to stay alive while battling physical and physiological issues.
