Ep 5. Ashes To Ashes

Two strangers, one man and one woman, are dropped in a remote jungle location with only one survival item each and no clothes. They have just 21 days to survive while completely exposed to the harsh wilderness. In season 7 episode 5, "Ashes To Ashes," the pair must conquer the jungles of Belize.

The episode begins as Craig and Dayna are dropped off in a dense jungle, minutes away from each other. They are given their survival items: a machete for Craig and a fire starter for Dayna. As soon as they are left alone, both Craig and Dayna feel the weight of the situation. They are completely naked and without any other resources in the middle of a jungle, trying to survive.

The first day is a struggle for both of them. Craig has a hard time using his machete since it is rusty, and Dayna struggles to start a fire. They both spend the night without any food, and Dayna is unable to sleep since she is cold. The second day is slightly better as Dayna finally succeeds in starting a fire, and they both find water. However, hunting for food proves to be a challenge as Craig accidentally injures himself.

On day 4, Craig falls into a hole and hurts his shoulder, making him unable to use his machete. Dayna takes charge and uses her fire starter to create a tool to help cut down some coconuts. They finally have something to eat. Craig starts feeling better on day 7 and they both take advantage of that by going to hunt for food. However, they are not successful in finding anything to hunt.

On day 11, Craig and Dayna find a small river which seems to be a great spot to hunt for food. They start building a shelter near the river and decide to stay for a while. They also start fishing with a handmade fishing net. Things are looking up for them as they finally catch their first fish.

Days 14 and 15 prove to be productive for Craig and Dayna. They find a turtle which they plan to use as a source of protein, and Dayna starts to build a turtle trap. During this time, Dayna mentions how much she misses her family. Craig also talks about his past experiences with survival. They both start to bond as they reminisce about their lives back home.

The final days of their 21-day survival challenge are tough on both Craig and Dayna. They are getting weaker and hunger starts to set in. Dayna once again takes the lead and goes hunting one last time before they leave the jungle. They both successfully catch fishes, but it is not enough to sustain them for more than one day.

The episode ends with their extraction. Craig and Dayna have survived the 21-day challenge in the middle of a jungle. They both have overcome the physical and mental challenges thrown their way and developed a newfound respect for nature. They have survived Naked and Afraid.
