In NewsRadio season 2 episode 11, titled "Station Sale," the staff of WNYX is dealing with the news that the station has been sold. As the episode begins, everyone is in a state of shock and uncertainty - nobody knows what the new owners will be like or what changes they may bring.

The first character we see grappling with the new situation is Dave. As the news director, he's worried about job security for himself and his colleagues. He tries to get more information about the sale from his boss, Jimmy James, but Jimmy is equally in the dark. All they know is that the new owners will be taking over in a few days.

Meanwhile, the rest of the staff is dealing with their own reactions to the news. Beth is worried that her beloved vending machines will be replaced with healthier options. Joe is concerned that the new owners won't be as laid-back as Jimmy and won't tolerate his constant slacking off. Catherine is mostly indifferent, since she's just a temp and doesn't have any loyalty to the station.

One person who isn't worried is Matthew, the hapless marketing director. He's convinced that the new owners will love his "marketing genius" and give him a promotion. He even goes so far as to buy new clothes and prepare a PowerPoint presentation to impress them.

As the days go by, the staff becomes more and more nervous about the impending sale. Dave suggests that they all get together and brainstorm ways to impress the new owners and convince them to keep the station as it is. They come up with a few ideas, but most of them are shot down by Jimmy, who thinks they're too risky.

Meanwhile, a potential new owner comes to visit the station. He's a wealthy businessman who seems more interested in the building itself than the content of the station. He says he wants to turn it into a "yuppie paradise" with a health club and high-end shops. At first, Dave and the others are horrified by this idea. But as they learn more about the businessman and his vision, they start to see that it might be the best option for everyone.

In the end, the staff comes together to put on a show for the potential new owner. They showcase everything that makes WNYX unique and valuable - the quirky personalities, the irreverent humor, and the commitment to covering news that matters to the community. The businessman is impressed, and he agrees to keep the station as is, with a few minor tweaks.

As the episode ends, the staff is relieved and happy. They know that they still have a job, and that their beloved station will be preserved. While there's still some uncertainty about the future, they're confident that they can weather any changes that come their way. And for a group of people used to working in the fast-paced world of news, that's a victory worth celebrating.
