Ep 8. Stupid Holiday Charity Talent Show

In NewsRadio season 4 episode 8 titled "Stupid Holiday Charity Talent Show", the staff of WNYX radio station is throwing a holiday charity talent show to raise money for the station's chosen charity, The Poor But Proud Foundation. With the event just a few days away, each member of the team is busy preparing their acts.

Dave (Dave Foley) is planning on singing a medley of classic holiday songs, while Matthew (Andy Dick) is trying to impress with his impressive yo-yo skills. Beth (Vicki Lewis) is practicing some aerial acrobatics, and Lisa (Maura Tierney) is planning to perform an interpretive dance.

At the same time, Jimmy (Stephen Root), the station's owner, is stressing over the success of the event and puts pressure on the staff to make sure that it is a hit. To help, he has brought in a couple of surprise guests to perform, including a group of tap-dancing nuns.

As the day of the talent show approaches, tensions run high as preparations continue. Dave becomes increasingly worried about his singing, Matthew struggles to nail his yo-yo routine, and Beth is nervous about performing her aerial acrobatics in front of an audience.

On the night of the event, the team is surprised to see that the nuns are actually professional performers, and they put on an incredible tap dancing routine that brings the house down. As the other staff members perform, the audience gets more and more enthusiastic, and it looks like the fundraiser is going to be a huge success.

However, things start to go downhill when Bill (Phil Hartman) takes to the stage to perform his own act. Despite trying to keep things simple, he manages to completely bungle his routine and ends up embarrassing himself in front of everyone.

Despite this setback, the staff of WNYX remains determined to go ahead with the talent show and continues to put on a great performance. When all is said and done, they manage to raise an impressive amount of money for The Poor But Proud Foundation, proving that even the most "stupid" charity events can make a difference.
