Next Great Baker is a television show that stars Buddy Valastro who gained his fame on another show by TLC, Cake Boss. Next Great Baker is a show that chronicles a competition between individuals as they hone their baking skills and ability to use decor to make their creations come to life. On each episode of Next Great Baker, there is a set routine that is followed to show off the skills of each contestant. The first part of the routine is the Baker's Challenge. The Baker's Challenge is a unique challenge set forth by Buddy for the contestants to step up to the plate and meet. The contestant who wins this portion will be the recipient of a reward. The second part of the routine is called the Elimination Challenge. The Elimination Challenge is when each contestant has to make a cake following the specifications set forth by Buddy. The last portion of each episode is the Final Elimination. The Final Elimination is the portion of the show where one of the contestants will be sent home. Buddy and his panel of judges will make decisions on the judging of the cakes. They will pick the best of the cakes and the worst of the cakes. After Buddy and the panel of judges have made their decisions, they will gather all of the contestants together. They talk about the cakes and tell those that did well what was good about their creations and then they are sent away so that only those that did poorly remain in the room with the panel of judges. Then they revel which contestant did the most poorly and send the one who did the worst away. As the show progresses throughout the season you are able to watch to see whose talents are being perfected and guess who might win and who you suspect will be going home.
