Nightwing: The Series is a fan-made web series that premiered on YouTube in 2014. The series is based on the character of Nightwing, a fictional superhero in DC Comics universe. The show was created and directed by Danny Shepherd, who also plays the role of Nightwing aka Dick Grayson, the former sidekick of Batman who becomes his own superhero after parting ways with Bruce Wayne.

The series follows Nightwing as he returns to Gotham City after spending five years away in Bludhaven. He comes back to solve the mystery behind his parents' murder and to confront his past with Batman. He teams up with a new ally, Oracle, who provides him with all the tech and intel he needs to take down the criminals of Gotham.

The show also features Bob Lee Dysinger as Alfred Pennyworth, Batman's loyal butler and the father figure to Nightwing. He provides emotional support to Nightwing and helps him navigate his relationship with Batman. Stephen Manley plays the role of Deathstroke, a formidable assassin who is hired by a mysterious figure to take down Nightwing. He is the main antagonist of the series and provides a constant threat to Nightwing throughout his journey.

The production value of the show is impressive, especially considering it's a fan-made project. The fight scenes are well choreographed and the special effects are convincing. The series looks and feels like a professional production, and fans of the Nightwing character would appreciate the attention to detail.

One of the strengths of the show is the characterization of Nightwing himself. Danny Shepherd's portrayal of the character is spot on, capturing the essence of Dick Grayson's personality and motivation. Nightwing is a complex character who struggles with the shadow of Batman looming over him. He wants to prove to himself and others that he can make a difference on his own, but he also recognizes the value of the lessons he learned from his former mentor.

Oracle is also a standout character in the show. Played by Kim Cruz, she is a tech genius who helps Nightwing with his missions. She is also a wheelchair user, which adds an important layer of diversity to the show. The relationship between Oracle and Nightwing is one of mutual respect and admiration, and their banter provides some much-needed levity to the show.

Alfred Pennyworth is also given more screen time than he usually gets in Batman stories. Bob Lee Dysinger's performance is excellent, portraying Alfred as a wise and caring mentor to Nightwing. His interactions with Nightwing provide some emotional depth to the show, as he helps Nightwing deal with the trauma of his past and his complicated relationship with Batman.

The show's main weakness is its limited scope. The series consists of only five episodes, and the story is left unresolved at the end. While the show does a good job of setting up the characters and the world, it feels like the beginning of a larger story rather than a complete narrative. It's unclear if there were plans to continue the series, but as of now, there have been no new episodes released.

Overall, Nightwing: The Series is a well-made and entertaining fan-made production that captures the spirit of the Nightwing character. While it's a shame that the series ended after only five episodes, it's still worth watching for fans of the character or anyone who enjoys superhero stories.
