In the latest episode of North Woods Law, titled "Twists and Turns," the Maine game wardens continue to face unexpected challenges while serving and protecting the state's wildlife and natural resources.
The episode opens with Warden Kris MacCabe responding to a call about a driver who hit a moose on the highway and took off without reporting the incident. With the help of a witness, Kris tracks down the injured animal and makes a difficult decision about its future.
Meanwhile, Warden Dan Christianson assists a group of kayakers who have gotten lost in the woods while on a camping trip. Dan races against time to locate the missing group before nightfall sets in and the situation becomes even more dangerous.
Back on land, Warden Eric Blanchard patrols one of Maine's busiest waterways, dealing with reckless boaters and enforcing laws to keep both humans and wildlife safe. But when a group of jet skiers refuse to comply with regulations, Eric must take swift action to ensure their behavior doesn't endanger others.
And Warden Jeremy Judd faces a unique challenge when he's called to rescue a baby beaver who's been separated from its family and stranded on a lakeshore. Jeremy works with local wildlife experts to determine the best course of action and reunite the orphaned beaver with its kin.
As always, the game wardens must navigate a variety of unpredictable and often emotional situations, serving as both protectors and educators to those who live and play in Maine's wild and beautiful North Woods.
