In 2082, Earth has joined the Great Race of Oban, which rewards the winner with whatever wish they desire. Eva, a student, leaves boarding school in order to find her father, the president of the best racing team on Earth. However, years of boarding school education have rendered Eva unrecognizable to her father and a job as "Molly" the mechanic. When Wei Racing is chosen to represent Earth at the race, Molly stows away for the trip and winds up replacing the Wei Racing's driver after suffering sabotage during the qualifier. Oban Star Racers lasted a single 26 episode season.

Nothing is clear to Eva anymore. Personally, she doesn't see why she would want to race anymore, since she is unable to revive her mother because of what the Ultimate Prize's nature reveals. However, she can't throw everything away, since a Crog victory would lead to Earth being obliterated. Eva must stop Kross from winning.
