Ep 1. The Runaways

Elena, the daughter of Penelope, is excited about her Quinceañera. However, things do not go as planned when her usual dressmaker is unavailable and she is forced to choose another. Alex, her brother, is secretly struggling with his studies and decides to skip school with his friend. The two are on the run, trying to avoid being caught by their parents while also trying to figure out their future. Meanwhile, Penelope is dealing with her own issues as she tries to balance her work as a nurse, taking care of her elderly patient, and dealing with her ex-husband's sudden appearance in town. Lydia, Penelope's mother, provides comedic relief as she prepares for her role in Elena's Quinceañera. Throughout the episode, the family learns valuable lessons about responsibility, forgiveness, and the importance of family.
