In season 4 episode 2 of Pawn Stars, the team at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop are intrigued when a man walks in with a unique item - a painting by Pablo Picasso's dog, named "Pablo Pawncasso." The owner claims that the painting was given to him by his grandmother, who was close friends with the famous Spanish artist.
Rick Harrison, the owner of the shop, is initially skeptical, stating that he has seen many fake art pieces come through his doors. However, he decides to call in an art expert, Brett Maly, to examine the painting and determine its authenticity.
As Maly studies the painting, he finds several indicators that suggest the painting is indeed genuine. He notes that the brushstrokes and use of color in the painting are characteristic of Picasso's style, and that the signature on the painting appears to be authentic.
Excited by the prospect of owning a genuine piece of Pablo Picasso's art, Rick offers the owner $30,000 for the painting. The owner tries to negotiate for a higher price, but eventually agrees to the initial offer.
After the sale is complete, Rick takes the painting to a gallery to show it off to art collector and dealer Peter Marcelle. Marcelle is impressed by the painting and notes that it is likely worth significantly more than Rick paid for it.
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to educational segments on the life and work of Pablo Picasso. The experts explain his unique style, as well as the many different mediums he used to create his art.
In addition to the main storyline about the Pawncasso painting, the episode also features several other items that customers bring into the pawn shop. These include a rare old-school slot machine, a collection of antique guns, and a vintage Gibson guitar.
As is typical of Pawn Stars, the team discusses the history and value of each piece, and attempts to negotiate a fair price with the owners.
Overall, season 4 episode 2 of Pawn Stars offers an interesting look into the world of art collecting, as well as the daily operations of a pawn shop. With its educational segments and engaging storylines, the episode is sure to be a hit with fans of the show.
