In season 4 episode 38 of Pawn Stars, entitled "The Pick, The Pawn, & The Polish," the Harrison family and their employees welcome several customers through the doors of their Las Vegas-based pawn shop, World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
In the beginning of the episode, Rick Harrison explores the history of motorcycles and decides to purchase an old Indian motorcycle which he believes would be a great addition to his collection. Later on, he tries to convince his father and son that the motorcycle would even be a good investment for the shop. However, the duo is not easily convinced.
Meanwhile, Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison is thrilled when he comes across a vintage Jimi Hendrix t-shirt. While the original owner of the t-shirt does not want to let it go, Corey is determined to acquire it for the shop's rock and roll collection.
Later in the episode, a customer brings in a rare 1920s picket-fence barber pole which he inherited from his grandfather. While Rick is initially interested, he calls in his expert barber and restoration guy, Brent, to take a closer look and assess the piece's value. Brent argues that the barber pole is actually a fake, which shocks the customer and forces Rick to retract his offer.
Finally, a man brings in an old gas pump which he claims is from the 1920s and is one of only three in the world. While Rick is interested in the pump, he is not convinced of its authenticity, so he calls in his expert, Jesse Amato, to appraise the item. Jesse agrees that the pump is extremely rare and could be a valuable addition to the shop.
Throughout the episode, tension builds as the shop employees and owners try to negotiate with their customers and determine the true value of their items. Along the way, they encounter unexpected surprises and challenges while trying to build their impressive collection of historical and unique items.
