Ep 8. Patton Pending

Pawn Stars season 4 episode 8, titled "Patton Pending," follows the Harrison family as they explore unique artifacts brought into the shop by customers looking to make a deal.

The episode begins with Corey and Chumlee examining a rare 1936 Mercedes 540K. The car is in immaculate condition and is valued at over a million dollars. However, the owner is looking for a quick sale and is willing to let it go for much less. The guys must decide if the car is worth the investment, or if it's too risky to bring into the shop.

Next, a man walks in with a collection of World War II medals, including several awarded to General George S. Patton. The medals' authenticity is called into question, and Rick decides to call in an expert to verify their legitimacy.

As they wait for the expert to arrive, Rick and Corey examine a vintage barber's chair that the owner claims was used by Elvis Presley himself. The chair is in great condition, but Rick is hesitant to make an offer without proof of its history.

The expert arrives to examine the Patton medals and confirms their authenticity. However, due to their historical significance, Rick is reluctant to make an offer without first consulting with his father, who is an avid military historian.

In between customer interactions, the team takes a trip outside to test out a vintage Vendo 81 Coca-Cola vending machine. They find that while the machine is functional, it has suffered some damage over the years and may not be worth much of an investment.

Back inside, a woman brings in a rare Zeno gum vending machine from the 1950s. The machine is in excellent condition and still works, making it a valuable addition to the shop. The guys make an offer, but the owner is hesitant to let it go without exploring her options.

Finally, the Harrison family gets a visit from a professional welder who has created a unique sculpture out of scrap metal. The sculpture, which portrays a cowboy riding a bucking bronco, is incredibly detailed and impressive. The welder is looking to sell it, but Rick and Corey are unsure if there is a market for such a piece.

Throughout the episode, the Harrisons debate the value and authenticity of each item that comes into the shop. They consult with experts, take risks on potential investments, and make deals with customers looking to turn a profit. In the end, they must weigh the potential rewards against the risks and make decisions that they hope will benefit the shop and their customers.
