In Pawn Stars season 5 episode 11, titled "Corey's Big Play," the Harrison family and their team of pawnbrokers are back with more exciting deals to make in the Las Vegas-based Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. The show follows the everyday happenings at the pawn shop, where customers bring in a range of unique and often historical items to sell, ranging from antique weapons and rare coins to vintage guitars and classic cars.
At the center of this episode is Corey, one of the key players in the pawn shop business and son of owner Rick Harrison. With the NBA finals taking place, Corey decides to take a gamble and make a big bet on the outcome of the game. He chases down superstar basketball player Julius Erving, better known as Dr. J, to autograph a basketball in hopes of increasing the ball's value and securing a significant profit.
While Corey is focused on the basketball, Rick is approached by a customer offering to sell an antique clock that dates back to the early 19th century. Although it's a gorgeous piece with exquisite workmanship, Rick knows that the clock is also a complicated and delicate mechanism that may have some issues -- and he's not sure if he's willing to take the risk.
Meanwhile, Chumlee is drawn to a vintage Pepsi machine that catches his eye, and decides to take a chance on purchasing it, despite not knowing much about vintage vending machines. He turns to his friend Danny Koker, star of the History Channel show "Counting Cars," for expertise in restoring the machine and boosting its value.
As always, each of the deals on Pawn Stars is a negotiation, and the customers and pawnbrokers have to come to an agreement on price. The negotiations can be heated, but they also reveal some fascinating stories about the items being sold and their history.
This episode also includes some historical tidbits that the show is known for, with expert appraisers coming in to examine a Civil War-era pistol and an autographed photo of legendary movie star John Wayne.
Throughout the show, the pawnbrokers offer insight into the value of the items being sold, along with some humorous banter and occasional disagreements over the best way to approach a deal. And of course, there's always the thrill of the unknown, as the pawnbrokers never quite know what kind of interesting and valuable items will walk through the door next.
Overall, Pawn Stars season 5 episode 11 is a fun and entertaining hour of television, full of interesting items, colorful characters, and the thrill of the deal. Whether you're a fan of history, pop culture, or simply enjoy a good negotiation, this episode has something for everyone.
