In season 5 episode 20 of Pawn Stars, titled Yankee Panky, the pawn shop’s famous resident historian, Mark Hall-Patton, makes an appearance. The episode starts with a man who brings in an antique cannon from the 1700s. Rick, the owner of the shop, is initially skeptical about its authenticity. However, after examining the cannon, Mark identifies it as a Spanish-made weapon used during the Pirate Era. They eventually strike a deal with the seller, giving him a reasonable price for the cannon.

Later on, a seller brings a set of 1918 World War I Army medals from a private who served in several battles. The medals caught Rick’s attention and he calls in his army-expert buddy, Garry, to help him assess the value. The medals are authenticated as real, and it is discovered that they belonged to a soldier who took part in the famous Battle of Belleau Wood. After some bargaining, they agree on a price, and the seller walks away with some cash.

In another scene, a man walks in with a guitar that has sentimental value to his family because it was owned by one of his ancestors who played in a group with Elvis Presley. He hopes to score a big payday but runs into a snag when Rick is hesitant to accept his asking price. The seller ends up leaving the shop without a deal, disappointed that he didn’t get what he had hoped for.

Next up is a seller who brings in an original piece of artwork by Leroy Neiman, featuring a boxing scene with Muhammad Ali. The seller explains that he received it as a gift from his father. Rick is impressed by the artwork, and he and the seller decide to take a closer look at it. They are eventually able to authenticate the piece as an original, signed work by Neiman. After some haggling, they are able to make a deal.

Finally, a man walks in with a rare, 1860s Abraham Lincoln collectible. Rick calls in his expert appraiser, Jeremy, to examine the item. He quickly realizes that it is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece and could be worth a significant amount of money. As negotiations ensue, they realize that the item is much more valuable than anyone had initially anticipated, leaving the seller with a smile on his face and a significant sum of cash to take home.

Overall, this episode of Pawn Stars is a classic example of what fans of the show have come to expect. There are interesting historical items being brought in, expert assessments and negotiations, as well as the usual back-and-forth haggling between the owners and the sellers. With Mark Hall-Patton and Garry present during this episode, it is clear that the focus is squarely on the history behind each of the items that are brought in. In the end, it is the rare Abraham Lincoln collectible that steals the show, with Rick and Jeremy quickly realizing just how valuable it really is.
